Is there anything in the PPP protocol specification regarding the implementation
of keepalive type activity? I am just wondering under what circumstances a
modem inactivity timeout will work. I have always been under the impression
that PPP is at some intervals passing some type of packets back and forth
between the peers. Is this something that is different on different
implementations of PPP or does it happen at all?
