I updated from 2.0.36 to 2.2.14 about a month ago. ppp has worked fine
for a month, and then yesterday I started getting a 1 minute (!) delay
between received packets.

With kdebug 3 I can see returned ping packets arriving every few ms. ifconfig
shows packets received. But ping or tcpdump, or any other user-land app
doesn't get a returned packet until 79000 ms, and the 2nd packet arrives in
user-land after another minute (roughly), etc. It's like there's a fixed
1 minute delay somewhere in the stack. All other networking is normal. The
local ethernet works fine. The loopback works fine.

Anyone have any idea how to debug something like this? It's like the
kernel is just sitting on hundreds of packets which have arrived & won't
pass them up the stack.

Very, very weird. I checked md5's of the kernel, ppp.o, and pppd. Also tried
rebooting, just for good measure.
