Hi,
We have a customer that has diald setup to keep the line up for 2 hours
and he gets disconnected randomly. I know that this is likely to be bad
phone lines or some timeout at the ISP, but I was wondering if someone could
tell me what "IPCP terminated at peer's request" and "LCP terminated at
peer's request" mean? What does IPCP and LCP mean?
The connection was terminated like this:
4 pm - 5 pm - 3 times
5 - 6 - 0
6 - 7 - 2
8 - 9 - 0
9 - 10 - 1
10 - 11 - 1
11 - 12 - 2
and the next one wasn't until 10:27 in the morning. All the disconnects are
preceded by these messages:
May 5 20:07:33 Newlix pppd[13807]: IPCP terminated at peer's request
May 5 20:07:33 Newlix pppd[13807]: LCP terminated at peer's request
May 5 20:07:35 Newlix pppd[13807]: Hangup (SIGHUP)
May 5 20:07:35 Newlix pppd[13807]: Modem hangup
May 5 20:07:35 Newlix pppd[13807]: Connection terminated.
May 5 20:07:35 Newlix pppd[13807]: Exit.
Thanks.
