G'day all, I have a machine which has a modem connected to it for dialing into. What I find is that when I want to transfer a file, it is pretty slow. I can see the LED's on the modem for sending and recieving data blinking. And the problem seems to be that after a couple of seconds of constant data transfer, the other light flashes and then the download/upload pauses for a good second or two. (ie if sending a file SD is on for a couple of seconds and then the RD blinks, at which time the whole transfer pauses for a couple of seconds, and vice versa). Does anyone have any ideas as to why this happens ? I am running redhat 6.0, with PPP 2.3.7-2. # > cat /etc/ppp/options.ttyS0 -detach modem crtscts lock ms-dns xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx xxx.xxx.xxx.yyy:xxx.xxx.xxx.zzz proxyarp novj Thanks for any assistance.
