I am using a Slackware ppp server, with an 2.0.16 kernel and a mgetty
1.0.0.
I am trying to find out the phone number (Caller ID) of dial-up users,
but I can't.
The telephony operator ofeers this opportunity (CID)
I modified mgetty.config file
a) I added a line "rings 3";
b) I added in the "init-chat" line "#CID=1" (the modems supports
this command;
c) There is a line "debug 4" (I saw nothing else interesting
with "debug 9").
When I am looking in the log-file (corresponding the modem where the
dial-up connection have been done), I find "caller=none"?
What's wrong? Does the modem send it' message (about Caller ID)
somewhere else? (I thought this situation because the format of the line
containing caller didn't change after adding "#CID=1")
Thank you in advance,
Liviu Tataru
