We do that.

The "client" must run fecthmail on their server, and it distributes 
to local users at per /etc/passwd...

This is the fecthmail config file.
poll POPSERVER protocol pop3 localdomains YOURDOMAIN user POPID with 
pass PASSWD to * here

where 
POPSERVER = your isp's pop server
YOUDOMAIN = that which fetchmail should expect after the "@" 
            in each message
POPID     = your POPID
PASSWD    = your ID's Password
