Have you tried a raidhotadd?:

raidhotadd /dev/raiddevice0 /dev/harddrivepartition3

When I lost a drive on one of my RAID machines after I replaced and
repartitioned the new drive I had to manually add each partition back into
the raid. That resynched them as well.
