pardon my ignorance.
Documentation/md.txt asserts that only linear and raid0 can be used for /
and keep lilo sane, yet redhat (and others) seem to be able to handle / as
raid1 just fine. i was just trying to install my own custom kernel and
ran into issues on running lilo (sorry i forget the exact error --
something along the lines of "lilo cannot understand device 0xblahblah").
are there kernel options i'm missing (i tried all the raid options), or
does redhat have something special in their raid patches, or is this just
a magical feature of initrd images instead of things being in the kernel
itself?
i was trying linus' 2.2.17 with mingo's 2.2.17 raid patch from
ftp.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/people/mingo/raid-patches/.
i'm sure this has been addresses before. i couldn't find it in my list
archives offhand. bah.
