Stable? Yes.
Fast? No.

The raid5 code in 2.4.0 is much slower than the 2.2 patches.  I'm
working on it, but I have an ellusive deadlock.  I'll let you know
when I have something for you to test if you like.
(raid0, on the other hand, is noticable faster - pictures at 10).
