I wanna have 4 UDMA100 disks in RAID, but also want to use an IDE CD-ROM.
I have two separate IDE controllers, thus giving me four IDE channels (up
to eight devices).
Since CD-ROM will be rarely used (only for instalation and potential
upgrades), is it OK to put it as a slave together with one of the disks?
Will the disk performace suffer if CD-ROM is just connected but not used?
