AFAIK 2.4.3 has the latest code for RAID, IDE and VM (though the VM subsystem has gone through extensive changes since 2.2). Is it stable? It depends on how stable you need it to be. I wouldn't use it in a production system at the moment (unless I explicitly needed one of the features only available with 2.4).
