My first try with any of this.  I am trying to make a large data bucket
to stage networked backups.  Raid install and mkraid apparently work(?)
but when I mount, I get an error message and no mount.

  mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/md0,
  or too many mounted file systems

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Details:

I patched a vanilla linux 2.0.35 kernel (from a redhat 5.1 install)
with raid0145-19981005-C-2.0.35, built and booted.  No problems.
Adaptec AHA-294X Ultra SCSI scsi card
Vendor: SEAGATE   Model: ST19171W
Vendor: SEAGATE   Model: ST34572W   

I built raidtools-0.90 and did:

  mkraid --really-force  /dev/md0  

with /etc/raidtab:-------------------------------

When I try to mount:

  mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/md0,
  or too many mounted file systems
