Is it possible to non-destructively migrate my RAID0+1 array from 2.0.30+raidtools 0.41 to 2.0.35+raidtools 0.90? I tried "mkraid --upgrade" with with a basic RAID1 array and it failed, which required me to reinitialize the entire array, losing all data. (The configuration was a RAID1 array using /dev/sdb and /dev/sdb). Well, now I am evaluating upgrading two systems that are using the old painful raidtools to the newer versions (4 hours ckraids are killing me). So what I have are four 9G drives, two striped RAID0, then each set of two is run RAID1. I would relaly like to preserve the data and do a mkraid --upgrade on these. Is this something I can count on working? ( I do make religious backups in case these type of things fail). /dev/md0 = /dev/sdb /dev/sdc RAID0 /dev/md1 = /dev/sdd /dev/sde RAID0 /dev/md2 = /dev/md0 /dev/md1 RAID1 - liem ============================================================================ Liem Bahneman [EMAIL PROTECTED] Senior Systems Administrator http://www.cobaltgroup.com/~roland The Cobalt Group (206) 269-6363 x300 Seattle, Washington F(206) 269-6350
