It *really* matters as to which version of raidtools you are running, and 
which kernel code. Do you have CONFIG_AUTODETECT_RAID, and are the partitions 
set to 0xfd ?

0) BACK EVERYTHING UP TO TAPE !!
   I suspect just copy the raw devices ...
1) *IT IS MY BELIEF* that *IF YOU ARE REALLY SURE* that you know the raid
   params, *AND YOU ARE RUNNING RAIDTOOLS 0.90*, then running "mkraid /dev/md0"
   will *ONLY WRITE THE PSB", and will not change the user data.
2) run "fsck -n -f /dev/md0" to see what state the FS is in.
3) If (2) went well, breath a sigh of relief, and dump it to tape
4) run feck, and mount the FS.
