Hi,

i'm just playing around and need some information:

First, I tried to use kernel v2.2.9 and the raidtools-0.50beta-3, but
i didn't make it to compile the raidtools (seems the md-structures have
changed).
Then, I got the raidtools-0.90 from the alpha directory and the patch for
the 2.2.6 kernel, downgraded my kernel and hooked my raid-1 two-disk system
successfully up.

Just for fun I plugged one disk off the scsi-bus and everything still worked
fine. The kernel recognized the missing disk and downgraded the md-interface
to one disk. Then I plugged the 2nd disk on the bus again and did a reboot,
but the disk was still not used. Unfortunatly mkcheck seems not to be
obsolete. I had to set up the whole raid-1 system with mkraid again
(guess that's not the idea behind raid-1 <g>)

So, I friend of mine pointed out that i'm using alpha software, but - and
that's my question - where can I get the right raidtools for a actual v2.2.x
kernel and WHICH are the RIGHT raidtools ?

And next thing: Why do I have to patch the v2.2 kernel?

Thanks in advance...
