Hi
I always recommend the software raids under linux, especially them built
with raidtools 0.90 and the corresponding kernel patch.
Software are most times much faster than hw raids and raidtools 0.90
give possibility to do hotswaps
without using a hotswapable controller. Booting from a raidpartition is
also possible.
If do not want to set up a sw raid, I recommend the ICP Vortex; I have
no experiences with it, but our
NT office is very satisfied with it and all articles concerning
performance are giving a good mark to the ICP Vortex.
Also, it came along with linux drivers and support.
Greetings, Dietmar
