  * If I have a hardware RAID system and server fails (also the RAID
controler) can I just move the disks to another server with the same RAID
card model and have the system working back again?

This depends on the specific RAID controller. I expect that many of them store
the configuration information on the disks themselves as the Mylex controllers
do. In that case, when a controller discovers that all the attached disks have
a configuration that does not match the one in the controller's NVRAM, or if
the controller has not been configures yet, then the controller adopts the
configuration from the disks without manual intervention.
