I notice that all the raid patches for kernels since 2.0.30 have been labelled "alpha" in kernel.org. (Well, the NZ mirror anyway, I can't get into the main one at present). Are they really very alpha?? And how stable is version 0.90 of raidtools (given that RedHat seem to support it)? The HOWTO directory has the old Software-RAID document from 1997 (on the linas.org web site it, i.e. http://linas.org/linux/Software-RAID/Software-RAID-1.html is more recent). Even the updated one says: RAID-1 hot reconstruction has been recently introduced (August 1997) and should be considered alpha quality. RAID-5 hot reconstruction will be alpha quality any day now ... This is good documenation but needs updating in places. And can something be written about using RAID with linux kernels like 2.2.10 (or 2.2.5) - the patch files are there for 2.2.3, 2.2.6 but not in between. Should I use 2.2.5? -- phone:(064)3-364-5888 /\/\ _/\ /\ fax: (064)3-364-5835 _/ \/ ^ \/\,__ System Administrator at: Plain Communications ====<A "mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]">======
