Actually this works like a charm. You have to do a 'mkinitrd
--preload raid1 ...' (and any other raids you want to autodetect) in
order to do this, though. (If you use raid1 on ide drives, you might
have to recompile the kernel with raid built in.)
I use this on a machine here, and with proper invocations in lilo
setting up the geometry correctly, I even have /boot inside the root
raid1 on a stock RH6.0 kernel with an initrd built by mkinitrd... :)
