Yes, and just ignore errors (one fs.h.rej iirc)

nope
I'll admit, though, I typically just applied the ac3 patch to
2.2.11 since that had the s/w raid code and a few other things...

Not that I know of... just make sure you use the matching raidtools :)
And just in case mingo reads this message... any 2.3 ETA for s/w raid,
specifically working KNI? :) I'm hoping the KNI case will allow a low
enough CPU util in s/w raid such that there's enough cycles to do some
real DBMS work, and possibly we get close to the point where s/w raid
could sneak a machine onto the $/tpm-c or even top tpc-c areas :)
Gotta try and get Linux into tpc.org's tables somehow :)
