We don't use software raid since we use DAC960s for raid exclusively (as far
as I know at least), so the software raid in that kernel would be the old
raid code.
I talked to H.J. Lu (who builds our kernels), and he told me our next kernel
will have the up to date software raid patches from Red Hat (the previous
ones were against 2.2.5, which is why they weren't in our kernel), although
VA won't be supporting that code since we do not use it.
