You need the ide patches for your kernel.  Take a look in
ftp://ftp.us.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/people/hedrick/ for the correct
one.  After applying the patch to your kernel, you'll have hpt-266 drivers
instead of the slow generic ones, and auto-dma.
