The limit of four md devices is easily lifted by changing MAX_MD_DEV in
md.h. The limit of eight real devices making up one md device can be
increased to 12 by changing MAX_REAL in md.h. Mingo said somthing about
making a patch that could increase this number to 23 or so, see the ml's
archive.
Scsi disks from 16 thru 31 have major 65, see Documentation/devices.txt.
