Tried that this last weekend...
I tried to use the second virtual terminal to raidstart the raid1 before
telling the install that it's an upgrade, after some fussing got the
array running, but it seems Anaconda doesn't look in devices like md*
when looking for installed systems...
I raidsetfaulted on of the raid1 components, changed its type back to 83
with fdisk and upgraded there. After a boot I mounted the degraded
raid1, rm'ed most of the directories (except /home and some config
files under /etc) there and copied everything from my "temporary" root
to the raid1 device.
