        Those of us running insane DB sizes have a simple out, one
raid 5 spool per database.  This is of course useless if you must
stuff that many tables in one database (though with the database.table
syntax available you don't really have to care).


        Personally all my major databases are on there own filesystem,
I want the massive number of rewrites in the different DBs to take
place on different filesystem, pref on different spindles/sets of
spindles.
