        Right now the question is wether or not your hardware
        is 64-bit (UltraSPARC, or Alpha).  If it is, EXT2 can
        go upwards quite a bit.

        When 2.4 comes out, then, perhaps, you get same sizes
        with 32-bit systems too, HOWEVER then you *must* compile
        your software with  -D_LARGEFILE_SOURCE *and* have glibc 2.2
        (2.1 can do half-way, necessary new kernel interfaces are
         not here yet, but you can - perhaps - do compilations all
         right and have ready program binary when the glibc updates..)
