Suggestions for raid setup

We need not only a raid setup, but we also will need to be able to
hot-swap the drives.  Reading recent discussion it seems that compaq
should be avoided.  We will be running RH6.1 on an e-mail server needing a
total of 30gig or so.  My options are the compaq proliant and a dell with
the adapted AIC78xx.

I am new to raid and scsi in general, so any suggestions and doc pointers
would be great!
