Hello Linux Raiders ,

I was wondering if any of you may be able to offer advice on suitable
RAID configurations to use for
our new raid sub-system as it's all a bit scary when you've never done
it before .

The hardware is as follows :
        4 x 9 GB Segate ST39175LC (Ultra 2, 7200 rpm)
        1 x Infortrend IFT-3102U2 Ultra2 to Ultra2 Raid Controller
1 x Anonymous big black box to hold it in with noisy fans , swappable
drive bays and flashing lights

We will be using the storage mostly for database (postgres) and
web-image storage .
We need one big disk min 9 GB with fault tolerence for at least 2 drives
.
Prelimenery investigations point me towards RAID (0+1) .
We would like the system to be able to rebuild itself automatically as
we won't have local access to it .
Any comments are welcomed .
