Questions of RAID 1 chunk size

Does it affect the performance of RAID 1?
If I have set 4k chunk at the /etc/raidtab and then mk2fs -b 4096
/dev/md0 , does this mean that the md driver will write one block of data
to each disk at one time?

Does chunk size affect the performance of READ command for RAID 1?
