To the list.
Reading over the howtos out there, I am curious if this is an
appropriate place to ask my question. However, I am trying to install
RH6.1 into a system with the compaq smartarray221 card. As far as I can
tell I have configured the card to the best of my knowledge. However linux
is not directally supported in the setup of the raid controler (this is
the setup program called smart start from compaq). In the Red Hat intall/ setup
I can see the logical drive that I created (raid 1 over two 9.1 gig
drives) and make partitions. However, the system hangs just as it goes
into the formatting and installing-packages stage.

My first question is, is there a howto or guide for setting up RH6.1 with
this card?

Otherwise, I will ask my confusing questions:
I used the UNIX/XENIX option for os in the SmartStart setup software. Is
this correct?

I am adding a 150meg swap space and a 1000M root partition. Setting the
swap to linux swap file sys. and the / partition to linux native. There
is a linux-raid fs, but this seems to be for software raid. Am I setting
this up right?

If anywone can just point me to a faq on these cards, or a howto I would
be very happy. Thank you.
