I have a chassis with ten new 5GB Ultra-Wide SCSI drives all wired up.
I will be replacing the motherboard/CPU and installing Linux. The box
will be used as a network file server (NFS) and intranet web server
with a MySQL database. I expect to use RAID-5. What is the
best-supported (under Linux, of course) multi-channel hardware raid
adapter I can buy?

I would prefer three channels, since the box and drives are already
wired with three separate custom-made UW SCSI cables.

The box currently has a very old DPT SmartRaid IV (three channel) with
64MB of RAM. I expect that I can do significantly better than that
with a newer card.

Thanks,
Dave
