I got your message about the "really force" flag when trying to use the -f
option with the /sbin/mkraid Linux utility. I am running Slackware and have
gotten confused by the man pages and the errors I am getting. What is the
"really force" command line option?
Also, simple steps to creating a raid1 cfg on an IDE bus:
1) identify the devices [hdc, hdd]
2) create file systems on them?
3) run mdadd -ar after you have modilfied the /etc/mdtab?
<< this gives me an "I/O error on hdd" everytime I do this. . .>>
4) configure the /etc/raidtab
5) run "/sbin/mkraid -f -c /etc/raidtab /dev/md0" and get the "if you force
it you
might loose data" message. I know there's no data on the drives, but I am
missing the "really force it" option.
I know I am confused. Could you provide me with any feedback and/or a
pointer in the right direction?
Thanks in advance,
h/
