Thought you guys might like to see these. The server is getting a Win2K
load, but I put RH 6.1 on to do some benchmarks. It's not as good as I
expected...about 21M/sec writing and 66M/sec reading. On the positive side,
it looks like it will do well with "seeky" data.
Details of system:
Dual Coppermine 750mhz
Supermicro i820 board
1gig RAM (SDRAM)
Mylex ExtremeRAID 1100 with 3 external channels and 64mb RAM
8 x Seagate barracuda 18.2gig U2W drives w/1 hot spare (3 per channel)
2.2.14 kernel with mingo patches
drives configured as one huge RAID 5 partition
Here's a bonnie run with an input file of ~9gigs:
