Hi, I hope this is still a valid list for questions about the
raidtools. If it is not, could someone point me in the right direction?
I recently implemented software raid on my file server, and am very
pleased with how well it works. Props to the developers.
Q1: Is there a known issue with replacing the first drive in the array?
I have tested disaster recovery on different drives and it works
perfectly on each one. That is unless I replace the first drive in the
array with a new drive with the same ID (0). It consistently fails at
raidstart. I can however, put in a new drive with an ID higher than the
other drives (in my case ID 4). The raidstart works, recovery
completes, then I can change the new drive back to ID 0, and everything
is good as new.
Q2: Why can I not get raidhotremove to work? It always fails telling
me the disk is busy. No matter what I do. I have even manually started
the array and immediately tried the command with no luck. I must be
missing something.
