SAF/TE will not buy you much on Linux as Linux does not implement SES or
SAF/TE yet.

Depends on what you are hot-swapping.  If you're ditching hot-swap of a
dual rundanant power supply, fan, etc, you quickly drop down the price
range.  If you can't have drive hot-swap, whats the point?  ;)
