Hi all:

I have a little bit of a problem here. I've got a adaptec 152x controller
in an older computer. This has 4 hard drives of approximatly 600 meg each.
They are running in raid5 configuration with 2.2.14. The only problem is
that the aha152x driver that is included in 2.2.14 is quite old (1996 I
think) and does not support sync transfers. I assume this means that the
scsi card can't access more than one drive at once. However, later versions
of 2.3.x contain a newer aha152x driver (late 1999) that supports sync mode,
lowers cpu usage, and improves throughput (according to the readme.aha152x).
I havn't been able to get raid working on 2.3.99-pre5, tried the patches
from www.redhat.com/~mingo, and had similar problems as stated in a previous
thread. I assume I either need to get raid(5) working on 2.3, or if
possible run the newer aha152x driver on 2.2.14. I do not know how to do
either, does anyone have any suggestions? If any more details are needed,
just ask.. TIA
