Ohmygod! _Thank_You_ for pointing this out. I remember reading these
messages, but the relevance never sunk in. At the time I wasn't planning
on changing the proposed setup on this server from RAID-5 to RAID-0+1, and
now I shall go back to RAID-5.

Thanks for the pointer, having re-read it everything is crystal clear...
There should probably be a note about this in the FAQ. 0+1 is not
mentioned in the RAID Setup section, but a benchmark is supplied in
section 7.4 (RAID-10 performance).
