I don't think this is a raid error, I've gotten it on a single-disk
system - typically where there is some problem with the drive
partition table. In my case, I had let Win95 partition the drive,
which caused some incompatabilities with the way NTWS and Linux 2.2
were looking at the partitions. This was a 20Gb Seagate.
