I got the Raid-HowTo and I followed it as it says. The howto says that
I can make raid5
via software using mkraid and other tools. I could make the raid but
when I boot even
when I mark the devices as fd my RedHat instalation only recognize
devices as Raid000,
Raid001 and Raid002 with 1Mb of free space. I know now that I can't
make a raid device
as Hardware raid but can I do it with software raid ?? Can I do this
at a RH 6.2 Instalation ??
Thank's again,

Adaptec does not have any hardware RAID cards (at least none that are called adaptec cards). The AAA133 (and the rest of the AAA series) are SCSI cards that come with RAID software drivers for NT and Netware, maybe for a few other OSs, not for Linux. RAID features are not supported on Linux, and I'm somewhat surprised that you even got it to be recognized as a SCSI controller. Adaptec has said that they don't want this card to be supported under Linux, and have refused to release the information needed to make good drivers for it. Anyway, if you want to use this card, get NT or Netware. If you want a hardware RAID card, look elsewhere. Perhaps Mylex or DPT. Greg
