I am planning on doing some tests on disk performance for the following:
Single UDMA66 disk
Two-UDMA66 disk RAID-1
On kernels
2.2.14
2.2.14 (new raid)
2.2.14 (new raid + read_balance)
2.2.16
2.2.16 (new raid)
2.2.16 (new raid + read_balance)
2.2.17-patch9
2.2.17-patch9 (new raid)
2.2.17-patch9 (new raid + read_balance)
2.4.0-test5
2.4.0-test5 (with patches)
My problem is I can't work out whether I need the last one, and if I do
where to get the patches from. mingo's site only has a patch
for 2.4.0-test1 - does this mean that test5 has these changes in already?
If anybody has any patches for test5 which are worth testing then please
e-mail me a URL or the patch (off-list).
I will, of course, post all results to the list (or, more likely,
summarise on a web page and post the link to the list).
Any other comments?
