I am going to force the issue in 2.5 and delete the old error handling
code from the kernel. The net result is that drivers which have not yet
converted will fail to compile - this will "encourage" people to update
their drivers.
Some drivers have been orphaned - in other words the author is no longer
available, or no longer has the hardware. For such cases, it would be
possible for me to completely remove error handling from the drivers, which
would get it to compile, but the error handling behavior would seem rather
drastic. I would strongly prefer not to have to do this.
