Well as it turned out the original patch,
linux-2.4.1.diff
contained CR character at the end of
each and every line.
This interfered with patch.
I removed these offending CRs and
the patch could then be applied.
(Am I the only one testing this patch?)
The compilation went OK, and
my boot attempt succeeded and
7 luns of MBR-7 seemed to have
been recognized without problems.
I have not tested the CD mouting, etc.
yet, though.
