Problems with : Adaptec AIC-7880 on Adaptec 2940UW SCSI

System :
QDI Brilliant IV MB (100Mhz BX4)
1xP2-450Mhz
128MB SDRAM 100Mhz
Adaptec 2940UW SCSI on MB
Intel Etherexpress Pro on MB
2xHD IDE

2.2.0pre6 worked fine, pre8 and pre9 fail at SCSI (don't kwow about
pre7).

Description of problem :
At bootup, an error is displayed and the system refuses to continue its
bootup procedure.

Detailed description :
(scsi0) <Adaptec AIC-7880 Ultra SCSI host adapter> found at PCI 8/0

(scsi0) If not, then please properly set the device termination

(scsi0) during machine bootup.

scsi : 1 host.
scsi : aborting command due to timeout : pid 0, scsi0, channel 0, id 0,
lun 0 Test Unit Ready 00 00 00 00 00

The last line never appeared before. Timeout setting is HIGHER than in
2.2.0pre6 (it's now 5 seconds instead of 3). All other settings are
identical. I tried 3 seconds too, with the same result and tried 10
seconds too. No luck.

Kind greetings,

Wim Godden
