Is anyone aware of tagged queuing problems with the following ultra-wide
SCSI drive?
Vendor: QUANTUM Model: XP32275W Rev: LXY4
Type: Direct-Access ANSI SCSI revision: 02
Using an array of several of these drives in a software RAID-0 stripe set,
I can crash the system every hour or two (total system freeze) by running
multiple bonnies on the array. I've done it under 2.0.36 with a Buslogic
BT-958 and with an Adaptec 2940uw. With tagged queuing disabled, the
system appears to be stable with the BT-958. I've not yet tried going
back to the 2940uw.
Quantum support dennied knowledge of any TQ related firmware bugs, but did
offer instructions on upgrading the firmware anyway. I've been hesitant
to try that since their RMA department is unable to replace drives of this
type that I have that are dead and still under warranty. They offered
$100 or some vaguely similar drive behind mystery door #2...no
cross-shipping.
