Well, one danger with DAT drives is that it is possible, if the head
is misaligned, that you cannot read a tape which was made on another
DAT.
The only other thing you could try is maybe set the block size
(mt -f /dev/nst0 setblk 0), but I would not expect a
``Medium format corrupted'' error.
