Hi!
I've followed the thread 'bout buggy quantums and found myself in that
situation of having such a beast. It's a
Host: scsi1 Channel: 00 Id: 01 Lun: 00
Vendor: QUANTUM Model: FIREBALL_TM3200S Rev: 300X
Type: Direct-Access ANSI SCSI revision: 02
When I attach it to my BT-950 UW it'll crash under some
load. Disabling queues or reducing queue-depth and disabling
write-cache did NOT help. It just made it crash later. Attaching it to
my NCR810a solved the problem, but I would like to know if there is a
better solution. The ncr53c8xx driver seems to handle this problem
better. Although the ncr53c8xx seems to have tagged queues enabled.
dmesg-output:
ncr53c810a-0-<1,0>: tagged command queue depth set to 4
ncr53c810a-0-<1,*>: FAST-10 SCSI 10.0 MB/s (100 ns, offset 8)
There doesn't seem to be a bios-update for this drive and I would like
to know if the BusLogic-driver will be able to handle problematic
drives like the ncr-driver (I would like to give my ncr to my brother :-).
Ciao
Gregor
