To my knowledge, no.

I edit every single kernel release, because I have an aha1542cf and a
BusLogic FlashPoint. The BIOS detects the Adaptec first, then the
BusLogic. Linux is the other way around (for certain good reasons).
Apropos 1542cf: Is it maintained? - Someone introduced a one-liner
a looong time ago, to detect/support the CP, but it breaks my CF
(the translation stuff), so I patch that on my kernels too.
(actually, the only program that barfs is LILO, because it needs to
know the C/H/S geometry).
