Check the /proc filesystem.
1. If you have a scsi directory, cd to that. If not, you do not have a basic
SCSI system and need to figure that out first.
2. If there is an aic7xxx directory in the /proc/scsi directory, odds are
your card is recognized and OK. If not, you need to get the proper driver
loaded.
3. Then look at the scsi file by cat'ing it (ie. cat /proc/scsi/scsi). If the
Jaz drive shows up there, the drive is OK. If not, you may have cable or
termination problems.
4. Then your problem is probably that you are trying to "mount /dev/sda1" but
Jaz and Zip disks use the fourth primary partition table entry, so to mount
the filesystem you need to "mount -t vfat /dev/sda4 /Jaz". Substitute the
correct letter for "a" in sda4 if you have more than one scsi disk and the
Jaz is not the first.
