Hi

I just installed Linux on a Dual Pentium II machine to be our new file
server running Samba.

I was stress-testing SAMBA and the SCSI system for network copies,
from a Windows NT Server to Linux SMB server. 4GB of data, (6 chunks
of 650 MBs files) . In the middle of the copy, the operation failed. I
then had a look at the syslog messages which reported SCSI errors.

I am wondering if the problem is hardware related (the AIC78xx controller)
or if it is a problem with the kernel 2.2.9.

Thanks.

(on a tangent, any idea why linux reports that 254 MB are always used and
3 MB are free. Swap is set 133 MB. It does not seem to free the
available memory).
