No problem here. I could not ignore that, btw. I just meant that for the
390 you pay for the BIOS/SETUP, but for the 310 you just pay for a
reasonnable PCI-SCSI controller but you haven't the BIOS-SETUP, and that 
their respective price seem normal to me given the features.

Anyway, my intention was not to say that either of them was either too bad
or too expensive. Perhaps "you get what you pay for" is pejorative in
english. If it is the case, sorry for my ignorance.

For some applications, the 390 (AMD based) does fit user's need. If it
didn't, it would have disappeared. The Linux driver for this board is
well maintained by Kurt.

I donnot plan to write drivers for this hardware, but am interested in 
studying it. So, I donnot want to bother anybody for that. 
I have had a look at adaptec ftp site, but didn't find the material 
I expected. I intend to mail them after my vacations.
